Contact list question

I'm planing to update my iPhone 2g from 1.3 to 2.1 but I would like to save contact list . Is that posible and how?

good quesiton.......i wanted to know thiS as well. i ended up just writing down all my contacts on paper. that **** took hrs. hopefully u wont have to go thru what i experienced.

when you sync to iTunes it will back up your contact list

I just did that and lost 70 contacts ****

if you want to make extra sure, ssh to your phone and go to private/var/root/Library and copy the folder " Address Book" to your desktop or wherever you'd like." Now if you lose your contacts, you will always have a copy.
