I loaded volume boost for 2.2 on my 2G. And after rebooting, noticed that my ringtones were a little louder and my pwnplayer/ipod volume level was a little higher, but I didn't notice much anywhere else. I am partialy deaf in one ear, so I figured a little is better than nothing at all.

only problem with pin poking is that it wont work on the 3g, so people like me are screwed!! until a boot volume for 2.2 comes out.

Can you explain how to do this pin poking procedure? I have heard of this before, but do not know how to do it. also, what are the risks if you do this? You stated you had to have your 2G
replaced. Was that because of this procedure?
