Iphone 2g screen question!

Help please!

I have a 2G 8GB iphone and noticed just right now that there is a small hairline crack on the screen. Everything still works and the LCD under it shows no signs of losing its function. So would I need to just get the outer LCD replaced? Thanks!

The screen is made of 3 parts....the outer glass, the digitizer and the LCD.

On the 2g phones, these pieces are fused together and trying to separate them WILL break them. If you wanna replace it you have to buy the entire piece which is about $170.

A hairline crack isnt gonna hurt anything, I would just leave it.

if my screen doesn't work does that mean i need a digitizer?

^^If when you "touch" the screen it doesnt do anything....thats the digitizer.

If the "picture" actually looks bad, missing areas, etc....thats the LCD.
