iTunes upgrade messed up my iPhone
ok so here is the deal. i downloaded the newest version of iTunes. Then when i went to sync my 1.1.4 unlocked generation2 iPhone it didnt sync. It took all my music off and didnt allow be to add any music. Since then my iPhone will not charge via wall charger or usb charger. I have used different laptops and computers but nothing seems to work. I even tried mulitple usb cords but no luck. My phone is unbale to charge as well. The only way it will charge is if the phone is turned off completely. any suggestions? has this happened to anyone else?
i tired to put it in recovery mode or whatever they call it but the computer doesnt recognize the iPhone via the usb cord although it clearly shows on the iPhone screen that it is in recovery mode.Unlocked 1 Generation iPhone

If its in DFU mode it shouldnt have anything on the screen. Try again. I'm sure you know, but plug in your phone, hold the power button and home button at the same time for 10 seconds, then release the power button and continue holding the home for another 10 seconds. If you get it working again, I might suggest upgrading (unless your so in love witn itunes 7.5 that you cant dare to part with it). I've had a couple of scares with mine where I thought it wouldnt recover, but it always has (however I've read threads in which phones die :/). Good luck!

whats the difference b/w DFU and restore mode b/c I put it in restore mode. I followed exactly what you said. I plugged in my phone, then i held down the power button and home button at the same time , ect. ect. So then when that happens a picure of the usb cord comes on the screen with an arrow about that pointing to the iTunes logo. When i open up iTunes which is the latest version, nothing is being recognized. The computer is not reading the fact that my phone is connected weather its in restore mode or not.

First of all, when you put it in DFU mode, it should instantly connect with iTunes (unless your phone has other issues beyond a messed up firmware install), and to answer your question: http://www.modmyi.com/forums/ipod-to...-dfu-mode.html

After doing a quick google search, it would appear as though that particular problem is your machine, not your phone. Your phone's firmware install could have been sabotaged by the error with your USB port. Call apple support (dont tell them you've got anything modded...well duh).
