I'm trying to unlock my wife's 2G iPhone before we sell it to buy her a 3G, and I think I have done it sucessfully, but is there any way for us to test if the unlock was sucessful considering we're both AT&T customers? Quickpwn said the baseband and bootloaders were flashed properly, but I want to be positive before I send it off to someone.

Not 100% unless you have a non-ATT simcard.

What I do (cause I unload alot on ebay) is I went to a Tmobile store, you can buy a simcard for $10 on a pay as you go plan.

You dont have to pay for anything but the $10 for the simcard and it works perfectly cause when I insert it, Tmobile will come up in the carrier logo area and I will get bars.

Sadly, I never though to actually just find a friend that has T-Mobile and insert their SIM card... Thanks.
