what is my iphone connecting to?

I do not have an iphone data plan, pay per KB for now.
I make sure not to use the browser or weather or stocks when connected via EDGE.
I looked at my bill and there is half a megabyte of data transfer altogether on the phone. I called att and they won't tell me the url's that the phone connects to.

Any ideas?

do you have your mail account setup on the phone?


and if so, do you have it checking for new mail every 15 min, 30 min, or hour?


its also possible that when you think you are in a wifi area, there is an overlap before the wifi fully kicks in....??

Unless you just stick another ATT SIM in the phone that doesnt have a data plan.

I had that too, mine was the activation connection...

the phone does not have email setup, automatic checking is off as well.

the overlap idea makes sense, until i look at the bill and see that there have been transfers at 2 in the morning or some really early or late times.
