Very cool!
Currently restoring my custom 2.2 firmware made with Pwnage. Hmmm, just noticed the progress bar on the apple screen as it is restoring. Never saw this before either.

I was thinking of starting the same thread.
Here are some not just hidden features but some observations of 2.2
Pressing the home button will take you back to the very first page.
iTunes App now has Apple Gift certificate redemption on the Downloads Button bottom right... The Redeem top left.
Updated Apps now load and install in position rather than a new space then moving to Home Pages position you had them in.
There’s also a new preference that lets you turn auto-correction for typing on the iPhone’s keyboard on or off.
Previews of screen shots now display in iPhoto; previously screen-shot images appeared in iPhoto as blank images until they were imported.
When you delete an app from the phone, the iPhone will ask you to rate the app on a one-to-five star scale before you delete it. It’s unclear right now where that data actually goes and how it’s used.
The App Store application now displays multiple screen shots for apps, rather than just one. When you tap a screen shot in the App Store app, it brings up a slideshow of screen shots that you can swipe through to view.
Emoji for Japan Keyboard.
iPhone AppStore update of Apps sees the return of the 'Update All' Button top left.
Cover Flow in iPod Music App now has a Play Button bottom Left and an Info button bottom right.
Drop Pin in Maps now give the address of the pin placement.
Podcast downloading. ( I noticed you can download Podcasts in Edge in iPhone iTunes Store) Music you still need WiFi. Podcasts over 10MB you need Wifi or connect to iTunes.
This new update adds the ability for the iPhone to download podcasts directly without connecting to a Mac or PC running iTunes. Although the resulting downloads are accessible from the iPod application—and a Get More Episodes link has been added beneath the list of podcast episodes—the actual finding and downloading of podcasts happens in the iTunes application. The interface is quite similar to the one you’d use for purchasing music on the phone; the big difference is that all the podcasts are free. Tap the Free button once to turn it into a green Download button; the second tap begins the download process. Once the download is done, the podcast is added to your podcast list in the iPod application.
Note: Could be a bug fix for 2.2.1... Iphone Podcasts do not sync back to computer.
Some may be obvious and some not. Please Add to list....I will as I discover.Last edited by chriscoyne; 11-25-2008 at 11:57 AM. Reason: edit and add

Exactly CPJR, this makes me wonder what the new FW is really doing towards the future as you know exactly what the progress bar indicates it is "flashing".
I'm not sold yet...... gonna sit on this one and figure out why it is flashing the core.Screw #Winning, I'm #Juanning

So far success in upgrading, re-installing Cydia apps and themes now.
None of BigBoss apps are showing up in Cydia for me so that kind of sucks. No SBSettings or Categories. I read a post earlier to this effect and cant find it now. I guess BigBoss repo is extremely busy or down. I recall this happening with certain repos when other past firmware jailbreaks were released. I think thats it, I just went to install Categoris via teh "Featured Apps" screen in Cydia and it won't load the install button- just spinning wheel. I'll try later.
Edit:
Just as I sent this post the spinning wheel stopped and I'm installing. Its going VERY slow. Server must be very busy. Same for installing SBSettings. OH crap, its not downloading anything- acts like it installed but no app and no folders when I go in via Fugu. Back to try later.

Street view works on the 2.2 update for the iPhone. However on the iPod touch it there is no option to turn it on, because Apple purposely disabled it. But worry no more, a guy a iPod Touch Fans had modified google maps so that Street View is enabled on the iPod Touch 2.2 (has to be jailbroken)
If you want to find out how to do it, go HERE

The "make a number negative" is different in the calculator. It used to be just a negative sign now it is +/-
