Is This Possible, Noob iTunes Question?

Ok I'm gonna apologize now cuz this is a total noob question, but can you use Rhapsody or Napster instead of iTunes? Like pay the $12/month for unlimited music instead of a buck a song, and then put it right on iTunes then sync the music to your iPhone? It just seems so much better that way in my opinion, what do you think? Also if it is possible which would you suggest Rhap or Nap? I know this is a noob question but please help a girl out, thanks!
