Hello, I followed all the steps in the guide and it worked but on my newly restored phone im having more problems than before. Whenever i respring and it loads back to the home screen i cant click on any icons, i have to enable voice control then cancel and enter my passcode and it works then. Also my email resets itself often so it goes from nothing to all my emails unread. And i cant email pictures they dont show up. A
Any ideas on what i can do to fix this?

What method did you use to jailbreak? Sounds like a problem related to the jailbreak or unlock process itself.

I used redsn0w to jailbreak and my phone is not unlocked Iam on Rogers in Canada.

You did restore as a new iPhone? Which Cydia apps are you running? Anything like Intelliscreen?

Yes i restored as new on 3.0. I am not using intelliscreen. Just things like winterboard, categories, & tweaks like 5 collum springboard.

I understand that your method obviously works. What I want to know is why is it with all the programming geniuses, why can't we just have a program just to back up the phone. Why is it we must boot, reboot, sync, copy, blah, blah, blah.
I am not a programmer by any means but when I had my HTC touch HD, you could use one program, one button to back up and one to restore.
It was great, you could mod your phone and if you ever had a problem, I could restore in less than 2 minutes.
I don't get it, why does the iphone have to be so difficult?

OrangeCrush: the closest thing we jailbreakers have to that would be iPhone PC Suite. While it's far from perfect (trust me) it's certainly worth a shot. It's certainly a step in the right direction as far as a decent desktop program for the backup/restore of a jailbroken iPhone. I think the website name is pandaapp.com or something like that. Google it.

I had installed it a while ago and somewhere with the upgrades, I never reinstalled it.
Having said that, I'm just not able to understand how with all the great programmers we have, why it's not possible to have such an easy copy program like in window's mobile.

O know how you feel OC. I've been wondering this ever since I first realized how dreadful it would be whenever I had to restore over technical problems or a FW update. I've only been jailbroken since early July and it didn't take me a week to start asking around for a program to manage a JBn iPhone. I would pay upwards of $20 for such a program as long as it was dependable. iPhone PC Suite, while free, is very sketchy. I think it would help if ALL the text in the program were written in English! And if it didn't delete my contacts from my phone whenever I connected it!

I recently upgraded my jailbroken, unlocked 3GS iPhone from 3.1.2 to 3.13. I noticed that my iPhone does not automatically to WiFi sites even though it is enabled to do so. Is there a software fix or a setting for the phone to automatically connect to a wireless site? Can someone please help? I cannot even connect to my wireless network unless I go to other and manually enter the information and password for my network.
