The power button IS working because when the phone is turned on, power button works each time when i press it ! If i turn of phone in the dock then i cannot turn it on ether, i must take it up and then put it back. Then phone turns on automatikly. FW restore did not help. Also i cannot put phone in dfu mode. I have red all the forums etc. DFU mode is connected with power button so thats the reason i think. I hope you understud my problem. FW - 2.1,iphone - first gen. Computer PC but i tried mac too. These issues do point to issues related to the bottom flex cable. Click the flex cable link in my sig to see the replacement process.

Is there some way to detect that flex cable is damaged ? Home button is working perfectly.

flex cable can still affect the phone in many ways. I wouldn't pin the problem there before trying other ventures first. This would be a very unique situation if it were the flex cable as these are rare symptoms under that issue.
