iPhone 3G (2.1, Jailbroken) Won't Sync Anymore!!
I installed iRealSMS 2.01 a couple of days ago. I set it as my default application then used poof(in bossprefs) to hide the original sms application.
I tried to sync my phone today but it doesn't work correctly.
iTunes and the iPhone will say "syncing" but this only stays up for a minute or so. I don't get a "Backing up ______ iPhone" message in iTunes anymore, and the iPhone just goes back to the home screen while syncing. The computer continues to say "syncing" but there isn't any syncing going on.
iPhoto recognizes my iPhone but doesn't load any photos (just shows hundreds of blank squares.)
I tried turning iRealSMS off as my default and reverting back to the stock SMS application. (made it visible again also).
Even after this, a reset, and a computer restart, I can't sync my phone at all.
I'm using Mac. 10.5.5 and iTunes 8.0.1
I can't afford to restore without a backup (hundreds of text messages within the last time I synced and now, as well as call logs, etc.)
The phone itself works fine, but I can't put anymore music on
Help needed ASAP!
Thanks guys.Last edited by SilentEcho13; 11-19-2008 at 10:58 PM.

I assume u can access the phone...
so...location of sms and call logs.. etc..
/var/root/Library/SMS/sms.db
/var/root/Library/Maps/Bookmarks.plist
/var/root/Library/Calendar/Calendar.sqlitedb
/var/root/Library/CallHistory/call_history.db
/var/root/Library/Notes/notes.db
/var/root/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
/var/root/Library/Voicemail/*
/var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.weather.plist
/var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.stocks.plist
/var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mobiletimer.plist
Back up those files
then restore it
and replace them.

I tried a different USB cable on a different port, and it magically worked.
I guess that was the problem, but thanks for the list. I'll keep it aside incase I encounter a problem where I'd need to backup/restore.

These phones are a pain, but the USB ports are just as bad on any computer for issues.
