so ive literally looked everywhere i could think of. and no fix. my vibrate is weak and i KNOW there is a way to make it buzz harder, and sound higher.

through all my searching i found System/Library/PrivateFramework/Celestial.framework and i found SystemSoundMaximumVibrationIntensity.plist and i need to know how to edit this and what to change inside.

    PLEASE GUYS!!

You can edit duration and cycle (like one buzz, or two, etc) but you cant change the intensity. However, if it is exceptionally weak, it could be considered by Apple defective...and they may just give you a new phone. I have seen it happen.

You dont need a Mac....can be done with Wordpad in WinPC.

Ive checked those out before....but it seems that the only thing that will change is the length and number of buzz's, if you will. Changing the value listed for "intensity" doesnt seem to have an impact. But i'll play around with it again....why not, my phone's already plugged to the computer anyways

You think if I took my 10 month old 2G into an Apple store and tried the weak vibration thing it would work, cpjr?

I'd doubt it, but I can hope...

^^Dunno, if it really has a problem. Buddy of mine had an iphone that would barely vibrate....they gave him a new one after comparing it to one of theirs...and admitting that it was weak.

^That'd be awesome. I'm definitely going to try it when I go home for Thanksgiving, when I go and look at the new MacBook.

EDIT: Waiiiiiit. This means I'd have to restore back to stock. No. No no no no no. I guess I'm not going to try this after all. Thanks for the reply, though.

I had this problem a few weeks ago, I tried editing the SystemVibration Intensity whatever and nothing helped. Apple will replace it for you. You got it replaced a week ago? The iPhone I had was replaced 2 days before i brought it in for a weak vibrate, if you test it with in-store iPhones and it is weaker they will replace it for you

^That kills me... Maybe I will restore it and try this if my vibration feels weaker compared to others. Thanks for the information.

    ^^HAHA, true.

If your really worried.....and an Apple store isnt to far out of your way....drop by and "test" a couple of their demo phones compared to yours.

If you think there is a big difference, then go home and restore. And bring it back.

^LOL. Sounds like a legit idea since I'm going to be there to check out that sexy MacBook anyway, but my vibration is pretty good, I think.

And yeah, I have an Apple Store right near me at home, but I'm at school right now, so this is going to have to wait until next week when I get home for Thanksgiving.

If I got it, it would be turned around in 2 seconds for $400 and I'd be getting myself a 8GB (or maybe 16?) 3G and some 360 game-action.

I'll tell my story in here when it goes down. Only thing I'm worried about is making a non-corrupt backup that I'll be able to restore from if needed.

    New iphones are hot.

Bought an 8gb on ebay last week knowing I could get it exchanged and DID. Cost $125

Bought another one last nite 95% sure I can get it exchanged too. Cost $140

I just like looking at it....nice and shiny, still has the plastic on the screen

I don't think you should rule out getting a Genius Bar replacement before you try it. It IS completely hit-or-miss, because it depends on the mood of the particular Genius you end up with, but just tell them this is a replacement iPhone and you have a problem with its vibration. No harm in trying it, you have a legitimate concern.

ya, i know this.. but i as well just finished my newest jailbreak and whatnot

this just sucks because i dont wanna get ANOTHER one. ya know?
WOULD THEY EVEN DO A SECOND EXCHANGE???

and there is FO SHO no way to fix it through file editing? maybe im just a little paranoid...

    ok so

any of you who are into music, my vibrate is in the key of a low E... idk if thats low, or normal, all i know is tht i was modding someones phone for them (2G) and it had a beat of a vobrate on it.. i guess ill go in there this weekend and compare, and if i notice a difference, then ill just restore IN-STORE (and back-up before) and then take it up with a genius...

    btw, i have another question..

Apple gives you three swap outs before they tell you to get bent so swap it again.
