PLEASE HELP touchscreen not working

i have the old iphone and it has been jailbroken and unlocked for a couple months, recently the bottom portion of the screen would not work on applications but would work on some, so its obviously the actual screen is not broken. for example it doesnt allow me to ever use the keyboard for anything but i can select apps and it works perfectly on the same spot. can anyone tell me how to fix it because i tried restoring so i dont know what to do next.

A restore is all you can do.

However, Im pretty sure its the digitizer inside the screen.

The keyboard drops down several pixels below the icons which come up as much as a half inch on the screen. People hitting the keyboard are hitting well below the icons touch range. In the rare case it is the keyboard file, you can simply do a full restore. 98% of the time it is the digitizer.
