Music not syncing

For some reason my music stopped syncing. Before, everything worked perfectly but now, for no reason, whenever I plug in my phone it backs up, syncs contacts apps and then stops. any ideas? Im running a JB 2.1 3G on WinXP iTunes 8.0.1. I updated iTunes (I guess thats like reinstalling) and it still doesn't work.

try and see in the musics tab if its set to sync a playlist or set to sync all music

I tried checking and unchecking playlists as well as checking "sync all music." No help.

thats strange then, only two options i recommend now are try another usb port or restoring....

I got it to work without restoring!
All I did was download an app from the itunes store on the computer (My on phone appstore wasnt working either) and when I synced it said i had to authorize the computer for my iphone. After I clicked authorize it said "this computer is already authorized" and everything workied
