Transfer iPhone apps to new iTunes library...
I gave my old iPhone to my fiancee. She wants to sync the apps I have on my old phone to her iTunes. Is there any way to get around this. I went into the phone on her iTunes library, into apps, and hit sync, and it said it would remove all the apps on my iPhone. So can anybody help me out?
Thanks!

It's a few steps... but it's LEGAL!
All itunes purchase can be shared by up to 5 computers (and their iPhones)
Start by giving her one of your protected songs from the store, she will have to enter your current itunes account and password (you can do it for her this one time)
Then she can use ALL your IPA files (the apps)!!!!
But, you have to give her the updates (apple won't)
I do it!!!http://jpassoc.com/x -- with free itunes under the puppy!

Whats the easiest way to give her one of my songs?
Also, what do you mean that apple won't give her the updates, I'll have to? Like, hook her iPhone up to my computer or what?

mail her one of your .m4p files. or a flash drive or just iChat it to her!
when an update comes out, she is told, but apple doesn't give it to her for free (you have to)http://jpassoc.com/x -- with free itunes under the puppy!

Sorry for making this WAY more difficult than it is, but you mean hook her phone up to my computer and hit update all, right?
[EDIT]
Her computer was already authorized from my library. It is still saying that if I sync the apps, all of the iPhone apps will be deleted and replaced with the ones her in library. Isn't there a way to get the apps into her library as well?Last edited by JP101; 11-14-2008 at 12:38 PM.

NO, you send her your .m4p & .ipa files (the apps) in your Music/iTunes directory, she opens them up from the finder and they appear in the right place for iTunes!

I gottcha! And I thanked you for every post (was planning on doing that as soon as it was resolved)

One last question:
How do I change my account on the phones iTunes account to hers? Or does it automatically change once its synced up to her library?Last edited by JP101; 11-14-2008 at 12:48 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I don't see the problem unless you have already shared your library with more than 5 other pcs. I've transfered my purchases no problem. And FWIW, you can sync as many devices as you want to one iTunes library. Why not just share one? I guess that could be cumbersome...
I've seen that before too, but it will NOT erase yours. Trust me. Even if it does, you can always re-sync. Try it, you'll see.Last edited by Bigperm26; 11-14-2008 at 01:33 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I'm not saying on iTunes. I'm talking on the phone itself. When she goes to buy an app or song on it, I don't want my account to get charged.

Oh, now I understand. There is an app in Cydia called "swaptunes" that allows you to sync with mulitple itunes libraries. I have never used it and it may not help you, but I think you may want to check it out to see.
Wish I could be of more help. Good luck.

I'm sorry. I take responsibility for not being clear. Her phone is still registered under my account (for the app store). I am wondering how to change it from my account over to hers.

if you register it under her account and sync it all apps will be erased, and all itunes music bought under your acount.
if she wants your apps i guess she better get her purse out or you leave her on your account and get her to pay for anything she buys. The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

All you have to do is log into itunes under her account with her phone plugged in. The drawback is of course that your apps/music(drm) will be removed from her phone after a sync, but the phone will be back on her account.
