I literally just got my 3G phone. I made a few calls and each time I was forced to shut the phone down to end the call. When I moved it away from my head, it would just show the black screen. I tried hitting the home button and the top botton, but neither did anything.
Is this an issue on the 3G's? My 2G never gave me an issue with this.
thanks, I'l try a restore when I get home from work. Hopefully it's not the phone that's broken
edit: just a heads up, turns out my old 2G case was covering part of the sensor and screwing with it. Looks like I need one made for the 3G's (or cut this one up)
When I first upgraded from iPhone to iPhone 3G I also thought that my iPhone had issue with the screen not showing while on a call. I purchased two iPhones 3G that day (one for my wife and one for myself)and my wife iPhone's screen would lite up once it was away from the face. I later realized that it was my case, which is not made for the iPhone 3G and it was covering the sensors. I went ahead and order a case specially made for the iPhone 3G for $5 on eBay.
