Iphone 3G replacement!! Please help...
I got the replacement from APPLE store. The model they gave me is
MB499LL and the serial# begins 5K8xxxxxx. This is 3G I am talking about.
I read somewhere that serial# 5K8 are refurbs, but 3 different sources at different Apple places told me that this was the wrong inforamtion and
5K8xxxx is not the starting serial# for refurbs. The phone was given to me from the white box thin ones (non-retail package).
Please advise if this is really refurb or Just the replacement part. You can write to me at [email protected].,
Thanks
Raj

Refurb (easiest way to tell, it was NOT in a retail package) and please post to the correct forum.
Moved.

Some of their "refurbs" are actually a new product that they just didn't package to sell. It just depends on supply.

I got a replacement 3 days after the phones came out. It came out of the thin little boxes, so I highly doubt it was a refurb.
