Broken iPhone screen
Just have a few questions about a broken iPhone.... yup yesterday my iPhone went for a walk down the stairs when i went to pick it up the screen was completly shattered.

Its a first gen.
Question #1.
From what i understand when you jailbrake an iphone it voids the warranty, But is there a way to restore the iphone to factory defaults even though my phone will not turn on? and if so do you think apple would replace it under the limited warranty? i bought it less then a year ago.
Question #2 if #1 fails.
Is there any possible way to buy the front screen and fix it yourself if so where can i buy this screen and this there any good guides out there on how to do it?
Thanks for your time.

hey man, same thing happened to me. I ended up selling it on craigslist and just buying a new 3g for 200 b/c I was eligable for the "upgrade".
I'd first contact apple and ask them what they could do based on your time of purchase and if you still have the warrenty. Since you say you bought it less then a year ago you should be fine.
Try plugging it into the computer and see if it recognizes it, you could always restore it.

i had this problem with my 1st iphone 8gb. the screen was broke and when i updated it, it bricked up on me. anyway, i just plugged it up and left it charging for a few hours and that did it for me. if that doesnt work, search DFU mode. i dont know how to do that off the top of my head. once it turns on, just do an itunes restore and you should be good to go.
on the case of the iphone screen replacement, there is a video on youtube that shows you how to do it and there are screens and the tool to open it up on ebay.

Apple doesn't replace anything more than a single crack anyways. You'll have to shell out some cash to get it fixed.

I found a site that does the iPhone 3G cracked screen repair for only $89. This comes with a 60 day guarantee! I just had mine done and it was great! The site is CrackedPhoneScreen.com
Apple wanted $200
