Check if you are getting the correct IP from your Wifi Router.

Also, you need to put in the WEP PASSKEY not the Password which you set.

    I FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!

after months of trying everything and restoring and downgrading firmware it took me 5 seconds to fix it...

    1. Go to bluetooth settings, and switch on bluetooth
    2. Wait for the bluetooth icon to come up near the battery indicator
    3. Go to wifi settings and your networks should now all be there!

    THAT WAS IT!!!

Hope it works for you guys. It was bugging me for months.

I have iphone 2g, running firmware 2.2 qpwned

    Default The Answer

I Have Absolutely Positively Found What The Wifi Problem Is With The 2G iPhones. The Battery!. When The Battery Life Has Dropped. Wifi Will Not Work If Your Battery Life Is Higher? Than 50% I Thought This Was B.S. Until I Tried It. If You Have An Actual App That Allows You To See Your Battery Percentage, It's Been Proven. I Charged My Battery To Full Power Just To Put What I Found Out To Test. My Battery Was At 90%. My Wifi Went In An Out Constantly, Never Staying On More Than 10sec. The Second It Hit 50% Wifi Came Back Instantly, Never Disappearing Again.

So What's Been Happening Is When You Restore It, It Resets Your iPhone Momentarily. But As Soon As That Extra Boost Of Battery Life Goes Away....Back To The Same Ole Wifiless iPhone.

Basicly, Time To Get A New Battery Guys. They Run About $89.00 Either Shipping It To Apple Or Going To The Genius Bar. No Need To Buy A New iPhone. This Is The Real Problem.

Hope I Help Eveyone Out There Looking For An Answer.

Thumbs up Wi Fi & Freezer - I didnt beleive it either

    Guys
Been trying for over a week to sort after i stupidly installed Ping on JB 2nd Gen phone.
Tried everything - even restoring all the way back and tried re-virginising!
In desperation tried a suggestion that i had seen - It worked!

Turn off phone. Stick in freezer for 15 mins. Turn on - Wi-Fi should work. Can then D'load Cydia or Rock or Icy - whichever you want to if you haven't been able to before. Then D'Load BossPrefs (I had to keep going back to freezer after WiFi started dropping!!) Once BossPrefs installed. Go to Edge, swkitch off along with Wi-Fi here and also under Settings, WiFi. Turn off.
Back into Freezer and leave for 20 mins. Turn on. Go to Boss Prefs switch on WiFi ONLY. (Do Not switch Edge on) Then Settings, WiFi - switch on. Voila. WiFi should be back.. No Edge but hey something is better than nothing for now. Wi-fi is slightly weaker than normal and if you you use it a lot then signal fluctuates but turn off, leave a few and all ok again
Hope it helps some of you guys
