    Default weird springboard bookmark icon prob

    using a jailbroken/unlocked 2.1 iphone 2G.

    on my springboard i have 4 pages, 3 with visible icons and one with about 10 hidden empty safari bookmark icons. the hidden bookmarks don't show up in "poof". on launching one of the hidden bookmarks, it loads safari with an "untitled" blank page.

    so i delete the hidden bookmark icons, but when i respring with winterboard etc, they reappear, hence causing a 4th blank page on my springboard.

    any ideas what could be causing this?!

    did you install any blanks from cydia? If you did, go to the mange files part in cydia and see if you have anything called "install 10 blanks" or anything along those lines..

    ssh into /user/library/webclips and delete the blank bookmarks.

    normally you can't delete them because (I believe) they're owned by 'root' and when you're using your phone, you're logged in as 'mobile'.

    Thanks for the tip. I'd been frustrated by the phantom bookmarks as well. Your post solved the problem.

    Epic zombie reply, I know. But I have the phantom bookmarkers, even with restoring. Every time I update or restore these still show up. Anyway to remedy this?
