Default updated, now no volume or vibration

I was going into installer the other day and it automatically updated, now it has no vibrations and it has no sound other then when I get a call. A kid told me about how the volume hack would create this problem so I unistalled that, now when I hit the silent/vibrate switch it vibrates, before it would just switch and not do anything. But here's the weird part, and kinda hard to explain. All the settings are on for volume and vibration but when I get a txt it will not make noise or vibrate unless the txt app is opened, when I get a pic MSG or email it will not do it either unless the app is open. My alarms won't even go off unless the phones is on (not in sleep mode).
Thanks in advance, and sorry if any word are missedspelled

id try a restore, and also not use installer if ur on 2.x cydia is the safest way to go on 2.x. restore is usualy the best way to fix problems and its not as bad as every one thinks
Hey! A Restore Never Hurts It's True!

not to good on the whole technical thing, how might one go about doing a restore and will it relock my phone? By any chance is there a way to downgrade or delete installer? I mostly use cydia, I just happened to be looking in installer, beat.
