I was just wondering if anyone has figured out a way to add third pary apps to a non-jailbroken iphone? You see, my girlfriend is afraid to jailbreak her new 3G iphone but I would like to figure out a way to add apps without jailbreaking if possible. One idea I was thinking about was with these legit appstore filebrowser apps, like Discover, for example. Discover is free and we could both put it on our iPhones (mine is jailbroken). Of course, these filebrowsers are sandboxed and so do not have access to the applications folder but I know that some will follow symlinks. So, if I create a symlink to the applications folder on my jailbroken iphone, is there any way to copy my symlink through Discover on to her non-jailbroken iphone along with, say, the quake4iphone app, and then use Discover to copy quake4iphone into her applications folder? I don't know if Discover will let me copy a symlink onto another iPhone but if it won't maybe one of the many filebrowsers will? Im also not sure if I could change the permissions of the app with Discover but I think the appstore version of MobileFinder has that capability. Anywho, just throwing that out there. Maybe you guys already have something better figured out and I would love for you to point me in the right direction. Thanks.
