Exhanging a 2g iphone that is unlocked....

I wanted to exchange my iphone before the warranty is up and wasn't sure if I could do it since it is unlocked and I am using it with a special AT&T dealer plan (which isn't supposed to be used with an iphone.) I know i could probably easily virginize it, but didn't want to jeopardize losing my dealer plan. and when I called apple's automated iphone help desk, it asked me for my phone number so i figure there isn't any way around this, but thought maybe someone else out there found a way to get around this. any suggestions? thanks!

my friend who uses t-mobile just got his iphone rpelaced under warranty.

i restored it back to oem 2.1 he came in and said that he uses it just for music, it sstill under warranty (his power broke).

they replaced it.
