Disadvantage of changing root password?

Are there any disadvantages of changing the default root password? Do any apps or processes depend on the original password? I recently JB'ed my iPhone 3G (2.1) and want to change the default password (for obvious reasons).

I do not believe so.
Of course there's the obvious diadvantage that there's no 'forgot my password' button.
