I have a playlist called "iphone" in itunes and only have the music I want on the phone in it.

just a suggestion. As you can set it to only sync that playlist.

    /var/mobile/media/iTunes_control/Music.
All of the songs are renamed according to some coding system, and so unrecognizable. I highly doubt that you can delete music that way, since it stores all the song information in a database, (one which has not yet been cracked, and is thus unusable) and so when you delete a file, it'll probably end up causing errors.

U can use copytrans instead of iTunes, it's much more simple and since iphones can only sync with one computer, I use copytrans on all my other computers. It's just drag and drop, no syncing
