Huge Problem with iPhone
hello guys
FW 2.1, by Quickpwn pwned, I use iTunes 8, OS: Win XP SP2
Ive a big problem with my iPhone. If I plug in the cable, the pc does not detect the iphone, even if just plug in the charger, it does not charge the cellphone. I also tried to connect the iphone to another pc -> did not work too.
The cable is ok, my ipod was detected without problems.
The weird thing is that the phone boots while being swithed off when i connect the phone with my pc or the charging device (win xp sp2)
I also tried the iTrip FM transmitter which works without problems. if i use the charging cable of the itrip, the phone still does not charge.
best regards
rene

Actually I just noticed that the iPhone does charge, but its not shown by the battery and there is no "plugged"-sound if i connect it with the cable.

It's still flex cable symptoms. If you restore the software and it doesn't clear it up, it's the flex cable. I found some on ebay for $15 last week, IF you can manage to pull off the swap.

replace the flex cable. If the phone can't communicate with the computer you might as well unplug it and get the same effect. Options: http://www.modmyi.com/forums/iphone-...uff-money.html

I am not sure if I am able to do this.
In the case I f**k it up, I am screwed, because the phone was pretty expensive (I am a student).
Maybe I would let you fix my iPhone, but I live in Germany.
Either I sell it for a good price or I manage to revirginize it somehow and send it to my cousin in the USA so he can send it to Apple.

You're going to get about $100 for a phone that won't boot and has a bad flex cable. I've been on ebay for the last 2 weeks buying phones right and left for parts, only a rare few went over $120. If you want me to mess with it, I'll give it a shot. Otherwise I'll get in line to buy it for parts.
