JB'ed, copy photos back to Camera Roll, no thumbnails
I just jailbreak'ed my iPhone 3G. Before I did, I copied the camera roll photos (JPGs) to my computer (via Windows File Explorer). After JB'ing, I copied the files back to the folder:
/private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE folder.
When I go to view them on the phone, I get no thumbnails (just empty square boxes). However, if I tap in any box, the actual photo is rendered on the screen.
How can I generate thumbnails for these photos?
Thanks!

why are you trying to put them back in the camera roll? Just sync them in to the photo library through iTunes.

Thanks for your reply.
I'm a professional photographer (not with the iPhone
) and I place my "Fine Art" photographs in the photo library, complete with sync'ing. My Camera Roll is just for my everyday, ad-hoc, goofing-off photos. I don't want to "pollute" my Fine Art photo library with these, so I wanted to keep them in Camera Roll.
Any suggestions?
Thanks again!

You simply have to make thumbnails. end of story. As a pro photographer, you know how to make thumbnails, edit photo's, etc. the original size is 64x64 in PNG format. You can see what the filenames are and what the thumbnail name is by simply SSHing in the phone and looking in the directory of current photo's with thumbnails.

This is the proper format and extension for wallpaper:

This is how it will appear in the camera roll however, though unchanged in format:

Who is the Owner of 999APPLE?
Can someone tell me who the owner is for the following folder? . . .
/private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM/999APPLE
Is it "root" or "mobile"? Also, is the group, "mobile"?
And for the files contained within that folder, who are the owners and groups?
Thank you very much in advance!
