    Default Backdoor Voice Mail Numbers

Some of you may know what I'm talking about. It's a number that you dial that takes you straight to a voice mail center, and from that point you enter in the phone number of the person's voice mail that you would like to be forwarded to. It's basically just a way to bypass the annnoooyiing ringing when you know the person isn't going to answer (or in my case, the person I want to call is in class most of the day and their silencer thing on their iPhone doesn't work lol). Anyway, I keep running across a lot of lists for these, but they all seem to be outdated. Does anyone know if ATT has an official list, or just somebody somewhere has an up to date list of these backdoor numbers. I am looking for one specifically for this number: 1-631-946-XXXX. So yeah, if anyone can help me out, it'd be much appreciated.

Come on, 65 views and no comments? Somebody has to know what I'm talkin about! :P

A much easier way is to just download the application slydial

Does SlyDial just automatically use these numbers from their own database or does it work differently? I've been using it since last summer but it behaves strangely when I call a certain person (target: 619 t-mobile number; origin: 678 AT&T or whatever SlyDial is using). Though it appears to work from my side, she always hears half a ring and calls me right back (DOH! Exactly what I was avoiding). IIRC, it shows a missed call when I call my own phone from a landline, so I think it works differently.

Here's how I think it works: It tries to establish TWO calls; one rings the phone for a fraction of a second while the other is sent straight to voice mail. It connects you to the one that goes straight to voicemail and disconnect the first, hopefully just before it rings audibly... it just isn't fast enough for that one person's phone/service.

I just call my own voicemail and go to the main menu. One of the options asks if I want to leave a voicemail. I select that option and enter the number of the person, then their voicemail picks up.

I've been using this method for years and its great for all sorts of uses. Calling in to work, leaving a message for some girl you don't want to talk to but promised you'd call, etc....

Removed because some people like to rain on your parade. For legality issues it was removed but if you search thoroughly on google you will find what you are looking for.
