How to tell
How do you tell if you have a 1gen or 2gen iphone ??? Will it say it on the box in settings or just by looking at it please can you tell me what to look for

If the back is white or black plastic then it's second gen.

When you save white do you mean silvery colour

A silvery (silver) color is not white. Also he said "plastic back". Is that plastic? I do not think so.
If anything was usefull a thanks would be great!

Another way to tell if you are having trouble with colors :P
The first gen phone says "iPhone" on the bottom center. The second gen phone says "iPhone 3G"------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Has nothing to do with perfect. He said white, you said look here's a silver one. He said plastic, you found a metal one. I'm inclined to believe if he'd said lamp you'd shown him a key. Your negative response to something that is your fault will cut down your help here in the future.
