iphone updates & installer questions

i'm sure this has prolly been talked about a ton of times, sorry I don't got the time to search and browse the forums forever, but I've got a couple questions

I have a jailbroken iphone, I think its 1.1.4.

I am getting an update itunes ALL THE TIME, if i update itunes what will this do to my jailbroken iphone?

my installer, i didn't go on for a while, but now when I go on, anytime I try and download/install ANYTHING i get an error. why?

uh if u update itunes nothing will happen to your phone but i do not think you will be able to restore to 1.1.4.

im not sure as to why installer might not work, it may be because they no longer support 1.1.4.

id just update to 2.1 and enjoy the app store most of the things you have in 1.1.4 are now in 2.1 i was hesitent to update but im liking it
