Default Applications folder does not exist...what?

So I just sshed into my phone and tried to go into my applications folder but I got an error saying this folder does not exist. I've tried rebooting/respringing, nothing. All my apps works, so I know they must be there somewhere. Little help?

edit: Googled around and found a command (cd /Applications) that let's me get into the applications folder. Anyway around this? It's much easier having my application folder in the root.
