need help updating to 2.1 quick

after doing the download update and installing it screen said, lets get started, I clicked continue, next screen said, ATT verifing your account info, might take up to a minute,, 10 minutes later, same message, nothing happening? what do I do now? Please someone help me. I closed itunes, but when I restart it it comes to the same screen, hit continue to activate your phone. what should I do now???
