I never heard of iTunes asking for you to restart cuz I'm running vista as well but , try right click on the setup and choose windows xp on the compatability see if that would help but I'm just wondering about your copy of vista, is it like a tinyvista install or is it original ?
Thanx button in advanced

well its a vista upgrade from the origanal xp os that was on here.but i never got to grips with it and the hard drive was to small so i got a bigger drive and went back to xp(dodgy copy)but then i had major driver problems and xp kept crashing.so return to vista.
now i think back there was problems from the beiging with itunes.back then it would do vitualy the same thing but would load instead of asking me to restart.
that was 7.8 and this was the latest upgrade.

So you did an upgrade to windows vista from xpo and are trying to run the xp install? This won;t work, you need to uninstall then reinstall vista. I hate windows upgrades... it is cleaner to just install a fresh copy of Vista. Also make sure you download the right version of itunes as there is a version for 64 bit vista as well.
