Default [2.1-3G] Battery does not show signs of depletion!

So here's a new bug that showed up the other day.

My iPhone 3G doesn't show signs of battery depletion at all.
We would all love a battery that lasts forever, but I dont want the phone to randomly die on me.

What happens is that the meter stays at 100% (checked with MyBattery.app to make sure). As much as I use the phone, abuse it as much as possible, it keeps a 100% charge.

Then I notice this and performed a reset (home/lock button), when the phone starts back up it shows the correct level (lets use 50% as an example).

From here though, that 50% gets stuck and doesn't deplete until i reset the phone once again, then it shows the correct level.

Is there a way to delete some power/battery cache or plist of any sort?

Or does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Even setting the numerical battery from extended preferences keeps the level solid, no depletion at all.

After I reboot it shows the correct charge. but then it would get stuck on that charge.
