Display problem
I just got my iPhone back today I sent it off to be gold plated.when I turned it on the display was distorted really bad. the touch sensor and all functions worl 100% except the display. This leads me to believe that this a hardware issue maybe a loose connection. Any ideas what the issue could be? I have contacted the gold plater I'm sure he will fix it I am just trying to get some ideas.

A portion of it is the gold plating. It produces a high negative ground and that makes the electrons in the screen seek ground. That can usually be overcome by having a very good connection to the LCD, which means the plug is not firmly plugged in.

It's the black large plug on the ribbon.

I tried the plug. I completely disassembled the phone checked every connection and reassembled the phone. everything appears to be fine (no broken wires..etc)
could it possibly be either the board or the LCD? I have a back up phone I can pull parts off of to replace.
Any suggestions?Last edited by Michelebabe1234; 10-17-2008 at 12:22 AM.
