Default Possible Water Damage to iPhone

Well, on the way to school today I pulled my iPhone out to take a quick peek at the time. Sadly, I assumed the iPhone could take a few drops of water. I guess I was wrong. I made it to the hallway and I notice that my pocket is vibrating incessantly. My phone is switching from "ring" to "silent" constantly. It was just fine before I checked the time so I'm going with my iPhone has gotten "water poisoning." I haven't been able to check it though because I didn't feel like worrying over it so I turned it off and put in in my locker.

Am I right in thinking that AT&T users get a 1 year warranty on their iPhones? I believe I read that here somewhere....

if it truly is water damage, ATT/Apple won't replace your phone (i believe there's an indicator in the headphone jack. white means no water damage)

your phone couldn't have possibly been damaged if it's only a few drops of rain. mine fell into the toilet (halfway submerged) and it's still working (i did turn it off for awhile and dried it to the best of my ability). could be a software issue that you can try to fix on your own prior to turning it in

He's right. The warranty doesn't cover user damage, which water damage is listed as. Use a flash light and look down the ear jack. If you see a red dot, you're screwed. If not, you're safe.

You definitely did not get the second water indicator inside the phone for sure, so the headphone jack indicator is the only one to worry about.

If it's pink, you're hosed, if it's white, you're good to go. If it's pink and you want it white..... well that's where people who can open phones come in. Find someone who fit's that description and have them replace the indicator.

It is white....Whew. My phone quit acting up and has been okay for the last few hours. I also looked on the Apple support page and there's a link to see if you still have a warranty or not. I still have mine until February. So if it starts acting up again, I'm still good. I was kind of hopeful that it would keep being screwy. A perfect excuse to buy a 3G....

And thanks for the offer one1. Wouldn't white paint work also? Just a tiny drop...

Put it in the fridge to get the remaining water out. And pray.

On a side note, it's been a LONG time since I started this thread. I wouldn't of thought I'd be back in it helping someone. Kinda brings a warm feeling to my heart. Lmao.
