Default Problem with encrypted home wifi

I've looked on Google everywhere for a solution to this particular problem, but can't seem to find one. My problem is when I try to connect to my security enabled home wifi network, sometimes it works fine, and other times it refuses to connect. It makes no sense to me because it doesn't seem to follow any particular pattern, it's just random. My home router is a WRT54GX4 with a custom IP so it doesn't clash with our naked DSL. And it has standard password encryption.

I've gone through phone restorations for other reasons and have noticed that doesn't seem to do anything either. And newer firmwares haven't addressed the issue as of yet. Anyone else have this problem before? I'd really like to see this fixed, or at least some kind of solution.

    Thanks.

    [ Edit ] I am using WPA/WPA2 Personal encryption.

[ Edit 2 ] I changed the SSID on my router from the default to something else and it connected with no problems. I'm going to do some more testing to see if it will stay that way, I still need input or if anyone else has had this problem with encrypted networks.

Changing the SSID from a default name seems to do the trick so far. I'll monitor this over a few days and see if anything goes downhill. Still hoping to hear from other users on this issue.

It went back to the same problems 10 minutes after changing the SSID. I'm not sure what else I can do or what is causing the problem. Still hoping to get some feedback on this.
