Default Does 3G Firmware 2.1 Store ALL Messages?

    Ok,

So I noticed that some of my text messages were gone (don't know who did it, it wasn't me) and know that I read that all messages are stored in an *.mdbackup and in Library/SMS/sms.db (on the iPhone itself).

I have located both files and have downloaded them to my computer and decoded the *.mdbackup (the sms.db did not need decoding). Funny thing is, is that the texts that were deleted are not in the *.db files, in either of them.

Can anyone confirm what I am saying. That with the new firmware or 3G phone itself it no longer saves ALL messages in the *.db whether it was deleted or not.

    Default response solution

    /private/var/mobile/Library/SmS
    /private/var/mobile/Library/notes
    /private/var/mobile/Library/adressbook

just copy all files from inside folder ..store them and copy tjhem back after a fresh install of the iphone or on any other iphone ...
    ssh required of course
