My Legal 3g phone locked itself, help
Hi, I own a 3g iphone and I have it with Telcel in Mexico, 100% legit. if I go to itunes and do a restore the phone is unlocked (or at least lets me use it in telcel)
anyways, I wanted to jailbreak 2.1, so I downloaded winpwn, downloaded the firmware and everything worked great, installed cydia, installer, etc.. the only problem is, the phone lost is reception, it "locked" itself. which is weird, since I thought having this phone meant I didnt have to worry about unlocking it, since it was legit. but the jailbreak locked it. Anybody has any idea what happened? and how to jailbreak 2.1 3g iphone? thanks

Hmm... sounds like you "Hactivated" the phone. You need to restore back to 2.1 and use quickpwn to jailbreak but not activate. Plug into iTunes and let it activate normally.

When I first updated my unlocked 3G it relocked itself. Restoring from my 2G back-up cleared this and it activated itself next time I had mobile reception.
I would get it restored/updated to 2.1 as a new phone first. Then let it activate itself once it has reception.
Then use Quickpwn if you want to jailbreak.
