I think my iPhone had a heart attack (help please)
Backstory: On the way back from some errands, I'm listening to music. Phone's in my pocket, all is well. Suddenly, the song stops. I take my phone out of my pocket and I'm greeted with a black screen. It wasn't off, and it wouldn't respond to anything I tried. Finally I said might as well reboot it so I hold power+home to turn it off. After 6 seconds or so the phone goes off and I turn it on... except it doesn't turn back on. I know the battery wasn't anywhere near empty and I hardly was doing something that would make my phone commit seppuku so now I'm lost.
The phone is plugged in to my computer but the computer isn't recognizing it. I can't even get it to go to DFU mode, right now it literally is being nothing more than a brick. Has this happened to anyone here? Am I SOL and will be needing a trip to the Apple store (which is an hour and a half away
)?
I was jailbroken but mostly for Winterboard so at most I would like to restore before taking to the store but I can't even turn the damn thing on soooooo....
Help?

Most likely the battery just died; How long have you had it?
Also, if it's totally dead and you're sure you can't get into DFU (Plug in, turn off, hold both buttons for 10 seconds, then release power and hold home for 30), then I'd get up the nerve to bring it to a store, provided it's under warranty (https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do).
If it's really dead and won't boot up, you don't really have to worry about them finding anything.
If you get it on for any amount of time, I'd recommend connecting via SSH and doing rm -rf /sbin or deleting /sbin so it won't boot up.

attempt to get it into DFU a few more times. hold home and power for ten seconds, release power and continue to hold home for 15 seconds.
If you can get it into DFU, the computer will see it.Screw #Winning, I'm #Juanning

whatever it is...just to be sure the phone is DEAD DEAD before you walk in that Apple store...make sure they wont be able to boot up the phone.
I'd would do what Git recommends "connecting via SSH and doing rm -rf /sbin or deleting /sbin so it won't boot up".
Good Luck.

if you get no phone "movement" (dunno what else to call it, LOL) when plugged into USB have you tried the wall (just to see if it wakes up grom its coma)

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

Why would you do that?
If I get it working you get triple the money or more.
If I don't I offer you cash and you avoid the ebay scams.
Where does ebay even come in here with an offer like THISScrew #Winning, I'm #Juanning
