I just got my iPhone in the mail, and I'm very happy although I have a couple questions:

A) The middle of the screen will not respond to touch (e.g. the 4-5-6 row on the keys). Is this just because the screen cover is cracked (which will be fixed when the new cover comes in), or is it completely dead there? The seller promised that the LCD screen under the cover is completely functional.

B) How do I stop it from using Edge when Wi-Fi is not available? I pay for the data, so I don't want it using Edge.

C) How do I import contacts from my current SIM card?

D) What do I do in order to un-jailbreak it so that I can update to 2.1 firmware?

If the touch isnt responding....then most likely its not just the screen....but possible the digitizer underneath. Which of course is more expensive.

As far as turning edge off....if you have "Cydia" installed on the phone sport around in it...there is a utility you can install the turn edge off...otherwise you cant through the phone normally.

And lastly, you dont have to do anything before you update to 2.1. It will "un-jailbreak" and delete everything when you do though.

And yeah, just throwing your simcard into the phone should import the contacts off of it.

More specifically, you're looking for an application called bossprefs which allows you to turn off edge.

In 2.x, you enter settings, go to 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' and click the 'import SIM Contacts' button.
