Battery On 2G Diying Really Fast

Hello,

I just recenetly started having problems with my iphone. The Battery wont last more then a day on standby. I have tried a full restore and didnt install any extra apps after jailbreaking unlocking etc. The funny thing is that after leaving it overnight and waiting to get the red battery telling my to plug in, after about 10 mins it shows the battery at 50%. When i check usage it says used time 6h 16 mins standby 1day 10 hours. But i didnt use it for 6 hours before i went to sleep i checked it and it had a usage time of 22m. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have turned off Wifi, open ssh, e-mail settings to fetch automatically. I am just at a lost for what it could be. I have also restored about 5 times just to be sure.

Probably a hardware problem, you can take it to Apple to have the battery replaced.

still sounds like a hardware thing... sounds like if the battery is ok for some reason something is still using it heavily (hence the usage times being much greater than what you say you actually should have)

Bottom Line: I don't think there is much we can do to help you if your problem persists after a full restore.

I got much better battery life when I upgraded from 2.0.1 to 2.1

Not to mention if you are still on 1.1.4 you are missing out on all the app store goodness

It is worth a shot... however if you ALL OF THE SUDDEN noticed this change I doubt that it is a firmware issue you are seeing.

well it was that a just noticed it start to drop faster one day, it could have been over time for all i know. It was working fine a few weeks ago, and at some points i will have 100% battery with 2 hours standby then it will start draining fast. I am just thinking its some software running in the background.

All I am saying is that if it is specific to the firmware you SHOULD have seen it all along. If 1.1.4 is doing it, it should have done it the day you installed 1.1.4. Try 2.1 and let us know what happens. Who knows it might fix things. Stranger things have happened.

i see what your saying i agree, the funniest thing is that it said the battery was charged 50% after charging for 10mins. Is there anyway to reset the meter?

your charger may not be working correctly. My phone some times says it's full when I connect my charger. Sometimes a power cycle fixed it.
