Safe Mode
Ok I didn't know where else to put this, and I know there's another topic about it but it really didn't help..
I have the 3G 2.1 jailbroken through QuickPWN. I don't have intelliScreen but I do have a problem. Every time I go to friggin' do something or check a text, it crashes. What programs could be causing this.. or what could be causing it? Oh ya, and I have about 5 GB in my 'other' in my iTunes, I SSH'd into the phone and found nothing the size of 5 gigs.. any ideas?
Thank ya in advance.

I had the same problem yesterday do you have Mcleaner,iBlackList or PSYL installed?
If so try removing them.
Hope that helps

I do have iBlacklist, and I'm not sure why PSYL is.. is that the name of the prog? My Blacklist isn't on, though.. I really hope thats not it, that may be the best program to come out of cydia!

Do you have many other Unofficial apps installed or themes, those themes take up killer space! you should klean them out
iPhone 4, Yellow Custom Glass, 32GB, 4.3.3, non-working home button. And a prototype iPhone 4 White.
Main Computer:MacBook Unibody Plastic, 2.26GHZ, 4GB RAM, 250x2GB, Red glowing Apple.

What about NES games how many do you have. You should try to remove BAckgrounder and see if that helps, becuse i had some problems with that app. When you updated to 2.1 did you restore from a jailbroken backup, because if you have all your themes have transffered and are nestled into your system taking up valuable space.

I only have one game installed, and honestly I think the extra space is due to a harmful program called swaptunes. That ****** my phone up for life lol.. but it was deleted.

Ok I know your problem, Snoop around on your iPhone in SSH for anything with the swaptunes name. Delete it. Because when you restore from a backup it preserves everything like summerboard themes, Swaptunes, and other things.

I wouldn't even begin to know where to look for swaptunes files. Another weird thing is that, if I'm not mistaken, under my /private/var/root/Media, supposedly there's supposed to be a iTunes_Control and a Music folder in that folder, but somehow it was gone, so I just re-created the two folders.. we're they supposed to be there? And was it ok to just add the folders again? This is extremely frustrating!

I had notifier and it was apparently causing the iphone to go to safe mode whenever I was checking email. There is an update for it today and it is supposed to cure that.
