Hey guys need some help just bought iPhone 3G 8gb.
Sup,
2 days ago I switched to AT&T and got the iPhone 3G 8gb. I used to have iPhone 1st gen 8gb unlocked/jailbroken/activated with T-Mobile and I sold it. I don't see much difference btw. 1st gen and this 3G release.
Do you have any tips or any useful info on 3G - What should and shouldn't I do. My firmware reads 2.1.
My questions are:
Do you think I should jailbreak it - so I can modify the phone and use native 3rd party appz - or leave as it is - factory settings ??
I had jailbroken my 1st gen iPhone many times with different tools (iLiberty and Ziphone) and from time to time my phone would freeze, lock and just act crazy... could all this be because we are playing with fire and just tweaking the iPhones ??
If I SHOULD jailbreak the phone, what tool should I use ?? iLiberty+ (does it unlock newer firmwares such as 2.0, 2.1 etc) I used to unlock 1.1.3 AND 1.1.4 with Liberty and since then I lost touch, sold my iPhone and that was it. So what is the tool used today to jailbreak new firmwares and how hard is it..
Thanks for the help

I can't speak for the old firmwares, since I started out with 2.0, but no craziness here. Acts just as it should. Honestly, after pimping out my jailbroken iPhone, I could never go back to stock... It's just too lame.
EDIT:
As all the folks above have listed, quickpwn is your best bet. It takes a grand total of about 15 to 30 mins.Last edited by Grassmasta; 12-08-2008 at 03:49 PM.

Quick tip. You may have used summerboard in the past to have different themes. Winterboard is whats used now. you can get some pretty cool themes, but do know that it does effect the performance of your phone (it slows it down a bit).
