airplane mode, cant charge!!!!!

ok i have a couple problems here. this started about 3 days ago.

everytime i go to my phone and slide to unlock, when i get to the home screen, a notification will pop up and it says this.........

Click the image to open in full size.
and i dont even have anything plugged into it!!!!!!!

this happened before but went away. but now it does it every single time. ill get a text and when i go to check it, this will pop up.

ok the other problem is i cant charge my phone with my usb cable for some reason. if i connect it to my laptop it wont read and itunes wont pop up. so i was thinking it was the laptop, i used the cable and plugged it into the wall and NOTHING. i tried 2 other usb cables and same thing....nothing!! so the only way i can charge it is in the car with the car charger....i cant sync my music or anything now

if someone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
other then going to the apple store......and i dont know if they will hassle me cause im with tmobile.

thanks

oh yeah, i cant get my phone to stay off.......ill turn it off, and it turns right back on buy itself. i even tried hold the power and home button, but it still turns right back on. im afraid to try and reboot it cuz if the usb doesnt pick it up now, i might now be able to unlock it later

ONLY thing you can try is putting the phone into DFU mode and restoring. Might help but those symptoms can also be a sign of a hardware failure which will call for Apple's assistance.

Well, seeing as you are on T-Mobile, it looks like it isn't going to matter if you can get the restore through or not.

It sounds like your pin connector is damaged. It's trying to read accessories that aren't plugged in, and it won't charge via normal methods.

It sounds like your car charger may have damaged the phone.

You either have -----

(a) - a bad Flex Cable.

(b) - a bad logic board.

I've replace the flex cables for many here on MMI that can't do it themselves. The part is $25-30 off ebay. If it is the logic board and you spend $30 + labor for someone to replace the flex cable, your screwed twice so best to have someone look at it that knows and can tell before buying it. I am one of the people who can do it.

As stated, the flex cable is $25-30 on ebay. There are no guides on how to fix it because it is a VERY involved task that requires you to separate the front screen panel from the phone frame - which is glued together and is scary to take apart.

I suggest you find someone that can do it rather than someone that THINKS they can do it because they WILL break the glass. I don't like doing it, I try not to.

....and it might be the logic board itself and not the flex cable. If that is the case, you are going to be looking for a new phone.

ATT won't help you because you do not have an account. They only help account holders with accounts. They DO NOT do any type of wty service for the iphone. They send you to apple.

hey one1, i purchased a broken iphone . . . charges fine over firewire, but nothing over usb. same problem it seems as si_fo_sho. i have the phone taken apart to the extent where i have the logicboard/battery removed. is there any way you could give me a quick summary of where to go from there? or at least how to get to the dock connector?
i really don't want to break anything, and i do have a new flex cable that is waiting to be put to use.

thanks!

The flex cable is your first option, then the logic board. One you MIGHT be able to pull off (see my Flex cable DIY thread), the other (logic board) won't help you a bit.... trash it (or give it to me for parts ).

You have to be SO FREAKING CAREFUL doing the flex cable repair. It's equally as technical as open heart surgery in terms of how easy it is to screw it up when you get around the ribbons cables.
