Default HOW do you take screenshot of the lockscreen?

I am able to take screenshots of everything else.

But when i press the home and off key. It sort of flashes
but it doesnt take a screen shot.

Do you do it differently when you take a picture of the Lock Screen?

It would have helped to say "I am on 2.x"..... we don't do well just guessing when giving out help

Obviously though you are so your answer is....... you don't. Only on 1.x software.

When I take a pic of mine on 2.1 all it shows is the time and my slider.

Takes lightning fast reflexes, but it is possible.
I managed to take a couple of them, but not before the screen noticeably dims.

Yea I hav tried that method.
    "
    • Place your left thumb on the home button but do not press it yet.
    • Place your right index/pointer finger on the power button.
    • Place your right thumb on the slider icon.
    • Slide the unlock tab to the right of the bar. As soon as you let off of your right thumb hold the home button and press the power button. If done correctly you will have successfully snapped a shot of your locked screen.

    This may take practice."

But it is so inefficient. And I have seen screenshots with the Slider in
    original position.

    1) Install UIKit Tools from Cydia
    2) SSH in as user: mobile password: alpine (using putty or terminal)
    3) Go to the lockscreen on your device
    4) from the command line in SSH type uishoot
    5) Now go to Photos and check your Camera Roll. Your screenshot should be there.

    ^Perfect.

Though in my search for a better method, I came across yet another inefficient process. Use veency, take a screenshot of your screen, and then crop the iphone part out.
