What is all this "Other" in iTunes?

Just out of curiosity, when Im connected to iTunes, it shows 2.22GB of "Other"

Click the image to open in full size.

Is this the Operating System?

I dont have many Cydia Apps installed. Only SwirlyMMS, WinterBoard, and BossPrefs.

I dont have any saved SMS, Ive cleared them all, and only 1 picture im my MMS.

Any Ideas of how I might be able to free up some of this space, or if its even possible.

Thanks

It could be leftover files from stuff you had installed previously but did not uninstall with what you might of uninstalled.

No MXtube or Dtunes. How can I get rid of 'leftover' Files from previous uninstalls?

Edit:
Ok, I just checked the size of var/mobile/applications and its about 2.2GB.... go figure, Now I know That I dont have that much worth of apps installed. Could this be the result of multiple times SSHing into the phone and renaming applications to applications2 to get my phone to reboot, then resyncing all the apps?

After Lunch I will uninstall all the apps through iTunes, then delete everything thats left in the applications folder, then resync my apps, and Ill post the results later on.

Edit again:

I unsync'd all my apps through iTunes, and was left with 1.3GB of 'Stuff' in the applications folder. Ive deleted all that and will put my apps back on, and that seems to have fixed the problem.

wait, why would you rename your applications to applications 2, reboot and resync? whats the purpose of that?

If the phone freezes and it gets stuck at the Apple logo, you can SSH in and rename that folder.... then in a few seconds, the phone will boot up again. Then just rename that folder back to Applications. The apps will be gone from the springboard but will still be on the phone. There is a better way to do this that I just learned yesterday. But either way, its much faster than a full restore.

EDIT:
After doing all that, this is my result:

All of my apps are back on, and I have about an extra GB and a Half, that was being eaten up by extra 'stuff' in the Applications folder

Thats Much Better
