sFTP music without iTunes 2.1 Possible?

Hello,

Is it possible to transfer music to the iphone, jailbroken version 2.1, without using iTunes?/ I've tried transferring music to the directory /private/var/root/Media/iTunes_Control/Music (and various other places), but the ipod doesn't see the music. I did notice that there are database files in iTunes_Control/iTunes/, so I'm assuming one of these must be edited. Is there maybe an app available that takes care of editing this database once music is transferred?
