What is the most recent firmware that I can update my iPhone to (1st gen) and still be unlocked, jailbroken and have the installer/app store? I'm on 1.1.4 right now and none of my settings are saving and it's pissing me off. None of the solutions here are working.
So can I update to 2.0 or 2.1, or do I need to stay at 1.1.4?

You can run 2.1. I'd update your iTunes if you havent already. Update your firmware through iTunes so its like a stock update. D/l quickpwn, and follow the instructions on the screen. (Unfortunately windows users can't get the custom boot logos untill the release of winpwn, but I didn't have patience for it this time)

1.1.4 has a $HITton more FREE games though- so if your as cheap as i am, you might want to stay on 1.1.4 for all the games- but there are claims of better phone/web performance- I wouldnt know- i had an ipod touch on 1.1.4- and when i got my 1st gen iphone, it was already on 2.0.1- and i'm too lazy to downgrade itunes and the FW-
but i finally activated it through Tmobile- and $6/month for web feels nice...

With the 2.1 update, do I get the appstore, with the ability to download free apps (the ones that are free)?
Also, does QuickPwn only jailbreak? I need to unlock and activate too.
