    Default DFU restore mode...then what?
I want to simply restore a 3G iphone so I can sell it but I just jailbroke and updated to 2.1 and just want to do a clean restore like it was never touched, I have searched many different times and get great instructions for putting into DFU restore mode but not sure if I then have to do anything special like shift/restore or do I simply restore to stock firmware 2.1? Thanks for any help to what Im sure is a question answered here probably 1000 times I just cant seem to find any old posts?

you can simply hit restore and let it restore back to stock 2.1, OR you can also shift + restore and choose the stock firmware, so technically the same thing but just one extra step. I would remove your sim prior to restoring, if you still have the ATT account, so the phone doesn't get activated once it's done restoring
